Bona Fide Passion

What comes to mind when you hear the word passion? Maybe fighting for what you believe in or working at something with all of your might. The word passion is derived from the Greek root pathos which means to experience pain or to suffer. We don't normally thing of passion as suffering. But passion is really a willingness to suffer and experience pain for something that you believe in. The question that you must ask yourself is, "What price am I willing to pay to win my friends to Jesus?" What will you choose to be passionate about? Are you willing to suffer for Jesus? Do you trust Him and love Him more than anything else in this world?

"But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behaviour in Christ may be ashamed of their slander. It is better, if it is God's will, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil."
~1 Peter 3:15-17
