You Can Cluck with the Chickens or Soar with the Eagles

A wise man once told me, "You can cluck with chickens or you can soar with Eagles....there will be more noise (false success) and people with chickens than with Eagles. Eagles soar to new heights and challenges--where there are often less people and less noise. Success isn't always seen because Eagles are out of sight, but it is there. And for chickens, well, they all end up on someone's plate."

Are you soaring like an Eagle? Or are you hangin' with the chickens?

Eagles look for opportunity. Instead of focusing on the negative, they find a solution--they soar higher. Eagles fly with purpose, they do not waddle around unintentionally. Are Eagles perfect? No. Are they striving to be? Not at all. An Eagle is a leader who strives to soar to new heights and challenges. They move past "good" so that they can strive for "best."

Chickens see situations and obstacles--rarely opportunity. If they do see it, they are too busy clucking around aimlessly to take hold of it. Negativity doesn't change into solutions. Rather, problems stay just that--problems too big to solve. Chickens are content to stay exactly where they are. They don't feel the need to go to that next level. They are happy with just "good" or "ok."

Which kind of leader are you?

"But this much I know... when the storm breaks, each man acts in accordance with his own nature. Some are dumb with terror. Some flee. Some hide. And some spread their wings like eagles and soar on the wind."

"Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." Isaiah 40:31
