Yesterday Barlowgirl released their new album, How Can We Be Silent? As I listened to the album today a flame began to burn in my heart. Why is my generation being silent? Why aren't we speaking about our beliefs? Do we really only care about make-up, clothes, boys, and friends? I would like to believe we aren't that shallow. The opposite of being silent is speaking out. Today I made a commitment to myself to NOT be silent! I will step out and make a difference for my generation. This doesn't mean I am going to run around screaming Jesus loves you, but I will speak through my life and look for God's divine appointments. When an opportunity comes my way to share my beliefs about hard issues I will speak the truth in love. We need to encourage the world around us. People everywhere are thirsting for something real! If we have the truth, why aren't we sharing it? Why are we sending the world around us to hell? You are here for a purpose. Honor Jesus Christ with your life. Jesus is the only source that will truly satisfy you.
I have a challenge for you. Will you be an "average teenager" or will you refuse to be silent? If you are willing to stand up and make a difference for Jesus Christ then leave your name with a comment as a pledge to NOT be silent.
